The Connecticut Food Association is a cornerstone of the food industry
in the Northeast. A non-profit trade association, the Connecticut Food Association represents more than 1,200 independent grocers, major chains, manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers, specialty food producers, retail and convenience stores, and other food professionals.
The organization provides resources, information, legislative services, and
networking opportunities for its members. An able first rate staff
is available to assist members.
The Specialty Food Division is set up with its own individual council that determines its course of action and choice of programs. In addition, specialty food producers are welcome to take advantage of all other programs sponsored by the Connecticut Food Association.
This Specialty Food Division is made up of many different specialty food companies
within the state. The purpose of the CSFA is to bring together small
food manufacturers, assist in marketing their products, bring recognition
to these businesses and create public interest and consumer awareness.
When it comes to small business, there’s truly strength in
numbers. Our collective experiences and contacts will provide you
with informative newsletters, invitations to a wide range of CFA
functions where you’ll meet and socialize with key food industry
professionals, and a network of other small business owners whose
own experiences can provide you with valuable assistance. You’ll
also be invited to educational seminars and provided marketing opportunities
like the CT Specialty Foods Product Awards Competition. You will
also have access to an effective lobbying staff that stays on top
of pertinent food industry issues and a direct line to governmental
agencies and state lawmakers.
Membership in the CT Specialty Food Association also includes a
free listing on the Connecticut Food Trail. Created by member Brian
Wittman, of Wittman Specialty Foods the Connecticut Food Trail aims
to advance the promotion, marketing and sale of Connecticut specialty
food brands in state and nationwide.
